The obvious advantage of taking the matter to court is that there are no fees to pay. Then again, a court case is time-consuming and can be costly if you need an attorney. There is also the problem of collecting a judgment – there is always the possibility of getting right back to square one with a judgment in your favor but no way of collecting. Collection agencies are less time-consuming but take a big percentage. Which is the best path?
